Day 1
Enjoy the ever-changing scenery as we journey north to Newtonmore.
Day 2
The Strathspey Railway will transport us back in time on a ten-milelong branch line where little has changed since Victorian Times. Later, we visit the Highland Folk Museum where we discover how Highland people lived from the 1700’s to the 1960’s.
Day 3
Today we enjoy a 2-hour Jacobite Cruise on Loch Ness where you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking vista of Scotland’s most infamous Loch in all its natural wonder.
Day 4
We head to Dingwall for our train for Kyle of Lochalsh. Our route takes us via Dingwall to Loch Carron. before reaching Kyle of Lochalsh – the ‘Gateway to the Isle of Skye.’ Enjoy fantastic views of the Cuillin Mountain range before a scenic drive back to our hotel.
Day 5
We include reserved seats on the Jacobite Steam Railway for our single journey train ride between Fort William and Mallaig. The journey takes approximately two hours with time available to explore the delightful fishing village of Mallaig. One leg of our journey is by coach, which affords us the opportunity to stop at Glenfinnan for photo opportunities of the Bonnie Prince Charlie Monument and the impressive viaduct.
Day 6
Homeward bound.
Located on the outskirts of Newtonmore in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. The hotel consists of two separate buildings, one housing the public areas and one housing the bedrooms. All 80 bedrooms are comfortable and equipped with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Although the hotel does not have a lift, all the public areas and many of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, with the remaining bedrooms being situated on the first floor. Lounge, bar & restaurant facilities.
