We spend time in Scotlands historical capital, Edinburgh; enjoy a boat trip on the nearby Falkirk Wheel and visit the breathtaking equine sculptures known as The Kelpies to complete this excellent tour exploring some of highlights of the lowlands.

Sunday
We journey north through the borders to the Central Lowlands, arriving for our 4-night stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Queensferry Crossing.
Monday
We step aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia, the Queen’s former floating Royal residence, used not only for state visits and official receptions but also for family holidays. We then enjoy a Guided Tour of Edinburgh, dominated by the iconic castle perched high above Scotland’s vibrant capital city.
Tuesday
This morning, we visit one of the most remarkable and famous buildings in Scotland, Rosslyn Chapelwhere guides give regular, free talks throughout the day. In the afternoon, we visit the highly regarded Dawyck Botanic Garden, home to one of Scotland’s finest tree collections including some of Britain’s oldest and tallest trees
Wednesday
This morning we head to Falkirk where we embark on a 50-minute boat trip starting at the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift that lifts the boat up to join the Union Canal 35 metres above. We continue with a visit to The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures and a true masterpiece of engineering, designed by Andy Scott. The story of The Kelpies is brought to life on our walking tour, which allows us to see a Kelpie from the inside for an exclusive look at their ingenuity
