Yorkshire Contrasts

Day 1

Enjoy a leisurely drive to North Yorkshire, arriving late afternoon at the Doubletree by Hilton Majestic Hotel in Harrogate for our 4-night stay.

Day 2

We visit Ripley Castle where the Walled Gardens are a pleasure to visit at any time of the year. Discover a fine collection of specimen trees from around the world. In the afternoon we continue to the National Trust Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden. The Abbey ruins offer a window into a way of life which shaped the medieval world.

Day 3

An opportunity to wander at leisure through the beautiful Spa Town of Harrogate, with its tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and elegant buildings.

Day 4

Today, we visit the market town of Skipton. Here we will be joining Skipton Cruises for a gentle cruise along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to see Yorkshire from a different angle. Sit back, relax and listen to the commentary and be spoilt with a cup of tea/coffee and scone as we cruise along the rippling canal. We’ll then return to Skipton for free time to stroll the cobbled streets and browse the independent shops.

Day 5

After a leisurely breakfast we head the short distance to the historic city of York. Here, there will be free time to explore this fascinating city with lots of attractions to keep you busy, before returning home in the afternoon.
